Hello there!
As of 03/12/26, we've updated and even added some new companions for you!
We have gone ahead and provided you with a brand new Rarity Scale!
Here’s a clean 1–10 rarity scale for the newer Vale companions, with 1 = common and 10 = legendary.
Common companions
Vale Fox — 1
Silver Hare — 1
Ember Finch — 2
Mossback Tortoise — 2
Highland Goat — 2
River Otter — 2
Dawn Sparrow — 1
Field Hound — 1
Uncommon companions
Moon Deer — 4
Shadow Lynx — 5
Storm Hawk — 4
Mist Wolf — 5
Crystalback Hedgehog — 5
Suncrest Falcon — 4
Rare & Mystical companions
Starfeather Owl — 7
Lumina Serpent — 8
Frostmane Elk — 7
Embermane Wolf — 8
Veilwing Pegasus Foal — 10
Astral Kitsune — 9
And for the fully original celestial companion species we made earlier:
Astryx — 9
Veylren — 8
Lunari — 8
Caelith — 9
A very simple way to think of the scale would be:
1–2 = common everyday companions
3–5 = uncommon / regionally elusive
6–8 = rare / mystical
9–10 = sacred, legendary, or exceptionally difficult to obtain
Right now, anything marked as the following 8–10 on a rarity scale are event only finds and are not usually discoverable through normal exploration. They’re typically:
event discoveries
seasonal encounters
lore quests
celestial phenomena
breeding outcomes
limited story rewards
Tier | Name | Rarity |
1–2 | Common Companions | Everyday fauna |
3–5 | Uncommon Companions | Elusive wildlife |
6–7 | Rare Companions | Magical creatures |
8 | Celestial Companions | Event discoveries |
9 | Mythic Companions | Legendary spirits |
10 | Divine Companions | Almost mythological |
Some companions are not born of the Vale’s natural wilds but instead manifest during celestial events, when the Wells awaken and the sky’s magic touches the land.
We have also added on the Companions Page, a Rarity Chart that helps you understand all the above information that's been provided.
We hope you all enjoy the newly added companions along with our updated ones!
